Become a language teacher that makes the difference for any student with Dyslexia and ADHD

Dyslexia Smart Teacher program

Language teachers around the world tell me they see more and more students with dyslexia and ADHD every year, but they don’t know how to help them.

This is NOT a global trend. It’s a reality. Estimates are that 1 out of 5 students has a neurodivergent condition (dyslexia, ADHD, autism, dyscalculia, etc).

But these students face 2 problems:
1. There is still a very low level of awareness, screening and diagnosis (although this is on the rise)
2. Most teachers are not trained to take these students to their highest potential.

This is WHY I created the Dyslexia Smart Teacher program.

This program will take any language teacher to the next level in inclusive teaching. If you teach groups of students in a language school, work in a state school or university, or you are a private tutor, this teacher training program will help you understand and teach any neurodivergent student effectively. But it will also help you create more inclusive learning experiences for ALL your students. And it will increase your level of student satisfaction, student retention, and, in case you run your own teaching practice, higher intakes of new students.

Testimonials

“This course is absolutely worth taking. It opens your eyes to the everyday challenges dyslexic and ADHD learners face and gives you practical, easy-to-apply strategies that benefit all students. It’s not just about theory—it helps you become more thoughtful, flexible, and supportive in your teaching. I’ve found it both eye-opening and empowering.”

What the Dyslexia Smart Teacher program looks like

The Dyslexia Smart Teacher program is a 100% online course with a balanced mix of videos, texts, and quizzes.

Where Level I is a thorough initiation to Dyslexia Smart Teaching, Level II goes deeper in the topic and includes 3 live 1-on-1 sessions, where we will adapt the learning to your specific teaching needs.

LEVEL I

Module 1: Understanding and recognizing dyslexia & ADHD in language learning

Module 2: Dyslexia and ADHD-friendly teaching strategies

Module 3: Adapting and creating dyslexia and ADHD-friendly material

LEVEL II

Module 1: Understanding and recognizing dyslexia & ADHD in language learning

Module 2: Dyslexia and ADHD-friendly teaching strategies

Module 3: Adapting and creating dyslexia and ADHD-friendly material

Module 4: Self-Esteem and Emotional Intelligence: motivating your students with dyslexia and ADHD

Module 5: Effective communication around dyslexia and ADHD (with parents, students, peers) and creating truly inclusive learning spaces

Module 6: Other specific learning differences (autism, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, etc)

During the live sessions of Level I & II we will work together to make sure that everything you take from the course is directly tailored to your specific needs and teaching environment. These live sessions are scheduled after modules 1, 3 and 6

What this program is NOT

  1. This program does NOT teach you to diagnose your students. Diagnosis is for diagnosticians. Not for language teachers. But I do believe that it IS any language teacher’s duty to understand how their students learn best, and how their brain works. This is why I created this program.

  2. This program is NOT just another teacher training course. The Dyslexia Smart Teacher course has already changed the lives of many teachers (and their students). You will not be the same teacher again, and you will start seeing your neurodivergent students with different eyes.

  3. This program is NOT about putting extra work on your plate. It is actually the complete opposite. With the Dyslexia-Smart strategies and materials, your work will become easier and more effective, because whatever you do will now work for ALL your students.

Testimonials

“It is a really well crafted course and extremely worthwhile. It’s also self-paced, which is a boon when you are working.”

Dyslexia Smart Community

So, do you like the program so far?

Wait, there’s more to it…

Any teacher who finishes the Dyslexia Smart Teacher program will become a member of the Dyslexia Smart Community.

Here, you will be able to meet and connect with other Dyslexia Smart Teachers around the world, where, together, we keep on sharing insights, knowledge, new findings, research projects, etc.

Together, we will re-shape the language learning landscape for neurodivergent students worldwide.

Free trial

The Dyslexia Smart School program is designed on a 10-week basis. Nevertheless, there is certain flexibility in this. Some schools do it faster (8 weeks), others take a bit longer (12-14 weeks)

Starting dates are also flexible, although the most suitable start of any program would be:

  • September/October

  • January

  • April

  • June/July

Workload

The workload really depends on each teacher. The videos can (and I know many will) be reviewed, text can be re-read, etc. Nevertheless, teachers report that they spend an average of 2 hours per week on the course.
